Disgraceful scenes marred the early ranges of Sunday’s Birmingham derby after Aston Villa’s younger captain Jack Grealish turned into floored through a cowardly attack from a Birmingham City fan at the pitch.
The fan went storming over the advertising boards and headed immediately for the unwitting Grealish, who he then caught with a sucker-punch from behind, knocking the Villa participant to the ground.
The horrific news is the assault become cheered using a small phase of the house crowd. The precise news is that the fan accountable was quickly apprehended via the St Andrew’s security crew and subsequently arrested.
UPDATE: The EFL has now waded in with an announcement putting forward that they wholeheartedly “condone the moves” of the Birmingham fan who clobbered Grealish in such cowardly style.
